Soldier’s Tale with Sir Thomas Allen

Ondřej Soukup will record Stravinsky’s L’Histoire du soldat, narrated by the legendary Sir Thomas Allen and performed by musicians from the RCM in May this year. This project will feature nearly 50 dancers from the Central School of Ballet, and will be filmed in cooperation with Middlesex University. The recording will be showcases in the In Focus series presented by the Royal College of Music.

The live recording from Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall and will be produced by RCM’s Artistic Director Stephen Johns. In the past, he has worked with the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonics, Sir Simon Rattle, Bernard Haitink and others.

In the 50th anniversary year since Igor Stravinsky’s passing, RCM musicians celebrate the composer’s life and work through this recording. Ondřej also recorded his Symphonies of Wind Instruments earlier this season.
